The Sloppy Stage 1 Camshaft is a cam with a mid-level profile. It will have a noticeable lope at Idle while not being overly aggressive. It will make great power and torque all while keeping costs low. This cam is a great choice for those daily drivers that want a cam that will drive like stock, with the power benefits of an aftermarket cam. Great for Cars, Trucks, SUV's, Street Rods, and LS Swaps. This cam will be noticeable with aftermarket exhaust but can be hidden with stock exhaust systems. This will work fine in Automatic's with a stock Stall Converter in car applications or 6.0L trucks. For 4.8/5.3L trucks a 2800rpm converter is recommended.
Our Kit Options Include:
- Camshaft Only: Elgin 1838-P Sloppy Stage 1 Camshaft by itself.
- Camshaft with Dual Springs and Pushrods: Elgin 1838-P SS1 camshaft, plus Michigan Motorsports .645" Dual Spring Kit with Steel retainers, valve seals, and 7.400" length Chromoly 5/16" Pushrods.
- Gasket Kit Option: Includes timing cover gasket, water pump gaskets, front crankshaft damper seal, and crankshaft bolt.
Please Note:
- VVT engines will require a VVT delete kit.
- If installing in an engine originally equipped with a 1-bolt camshaft, a 3-bolt conversion kit will be required.
- DOD/AFM engines will require a DOD delete to install an aftermarket camshaft.
