The Sloppy Stage 3 Camshaft is a big cam with an aggressive profile. For comparison, this "Stage 3" camshaft is as large or larger duration than most typical Stage 4 car camshafts and is much larger than a Stage 4 "truck camshaft". It will have a choppy Idle and make tons of power all while keeping costs low. This big cam is a great choice for those weekend warriors that want a sinister sounding idle and a powerband stretching through 7,000rpm. Great for Cars, Trucks, SUV's, Street Rods, LS Swaps when paired with an appropriate stall converter. This cam will certainly gain everyone's attention when pulling into a parking lot. Automatics transmission applications will need a minimum of a 3,000rpm Stall Converter.
We offer these camshaft kits with two spring options. They include the popular PAC 1218 beehive springs as well as our own Michigan Motorsports beehive springs:
The PAC 1218 is a drop-in high performance spring kit for all OE LS cylinder heads and is rated for up to .600" lift. This spring kit reuses your factory retainers and locks and uses the OEM tophat style valve seals. The PAC-1218s are an ovate beehive spring that has increased loads, rates and frequencies for more aggressive cams.
As an alternative, Michigan Motorsports has teamed up with a Tier 1 OEM supplier to offer high quality, durable performance beehive springs at a competitive price. These springs are a great alternative to the popular PAC 1218 and 1219 springs which have seen large price increases over recent years. They are also designed to use the factory retainers, locks and valve seals. Michigan Motorsports valve springs are a great way to save money without sacrificing quality or performance.

- Camshaft Only: Elgin Sloppy Stage 3 Camshaft by itself.
- Cam, MM Springs and Valve Seals: Elgin SS3 Cam, Michigan Motorsports .600" Beehive Springs, and OEM style Tophat Valve Seals.
- Cam, PAC Springs and Valve Seals: Elgin SS3 Cam, PAC 1218 Valve Springs, and OEM style Tophat Valve Seals.
- Cam, MM Springs, Valve Seals and Pushrods: Elgin SS3 Cam, Michigan Motorsports .600" Beehive Springs, Valve Seals, and 7.400" Length 5/16" Diameter Chromoly Pushrods.
- Cam, PAC Springs, Valve Seals and Pushrods: Elgin SS3 Cam, PAC 1218 Valve Springs, Valve Seals, and 7.400" Length 5/16" Diameter Chromoly Pushrods.
- Gasket Kit Option: Includes Timing Cover Gaskets, front Crankshaft Seal, Water Pump Gaskets, and a new Crankshaft Bolt.
Note:
- VVT engines will require a VVT delete kit.
- If installing in an engine originally equipped with a 1-bolt camshaft, a 3-bolt conversion kit will be required.
- DOD/AFM equipped engines will require a conversion to conventional lifters.
