Introducing the Gen V CHOPacabra LT cam! Texas Speed saw the demand for the LS version, and decided they couldn't leave the Gen V owners hanging. Designed to work with conical valve springs and a factory torque converter. If you're looking for that mean, snarling sound and performance that will leave your opponent second guessing what he just saw...this is it! This camshaft can also be used in 2019-later L84 and L87 engines but will require a different VVT limiter block than the one included in the kit options on this listing.
NOTE: The Chopacabra LT camshaft requires a DOD/AFM lifter delete, and a VVT Phaser lockout block is necessary to maintain proper piston to valve clearance.
Our kit options eliminate guesswork when choosing components for your installation:
- Camshaft Only: Includes only the Texas Speed Chopacabra LT Camshaft by itself (please remember a valve spring upgrade and a phaser limiter are necessary for installation).
- Camshaft with Spring Kit: Includes Texas Speed Chopacabra LT Camshaft, TSP Dual .660" Spring Kit with PAC springs, Titanium retainers, and Valve Seals with integrated Spring Seats. These springs reuse your factory valve locks.
- Pushrod Upgrade: Highly recommended when installing an aftermarket camshaft and springs. Our Gen V pushrod kit includes beefy 3/8" diameter, 7.850" long chromoly pushrods (brand may vary based on availability).
- Phaser Limiter Option: Includes a 0* Phaser limiter block for L83/L86. We have made this option for people who already have a tool from previous camshaft installations.
- Phaser Limiter with Tool Kit Option: Includes 0* Phaser Limiter block for L83/L86, plus the necessary tool kit required to install the phaser limiter.
