Texas Speed & Performance's L83 V2-Blower camshaft is one of the newest boosted cams from their already popular L83 lineup. TSP's engineers were able to redesign the lobes for less lift and more power than the already popular previous grind. This cam comes with a 32% fuel lobe to provide the additional fueling needed for forced induction (fuel pump lash cap included with camshaft). This camshaft can be run with a stock torque converter with proper tuning, though a higher rpm stall will help wake things up off the line.
This updated V2 version of the TSP Supercharged L83 camshaft makes more power than the previous design despite having less lift, making life easier on the valve springs and reducing valvetrain noise.
Each Gen 5 L83 camshaft Texas Speed offers will require the use of a phaser limiter kit. The phaser limiter restricts the range of cam timing movement, providing the necessary valve clearance for performance camshafts with added duration and tighter lobe separations.
NOTE: The L83 Supercharged camshaft requires a DOD/AFM lifter delete, and a VVT Phaser lockout block is necessary to maintain proper piston to valve clearance.
Our kit options eliminate guesswork when choosing components for your installation:
- Camshaft Only: Texas Speed L83 Supercharged Camshaft by itself (please remember a valve spring upgrade and a phaser lockout are necessary for installation).
- Camshaft with Spring Kit: Includes L83 Supercharged Camshaft, plus TSP LT1 Dual .660" Spring kit with Polished PAC springs, Titanium retainers, and Valve Seals with integrated Spring Seats (reuses your factory valve locks).
- Pushrod Upgrade: Highly recommended when installing an aftermarket camshaft and springs. Our Gen V pushrod kit includes beefy 3/8" diameter, 7.850" long chromoly pushrods (brand may vary based on availability).
- Phaser Limiter Option: Includes a 0-Degree Phaser limiter block (required for the L83 Supercharged camshaft). We have made this option for people who already have a tool from previous camshaft installations.
- Phaser Limiter with Tool Kit Option: Includes 0-Degree Phaser Limiter block, plus the necessary tool kit required to install the phaser limiter.
